The Road to Renewal is known for its scenic yet challenging course that features a terrific hill (or two), a shaded strip under a canopy of trees, and a unique "window" between fields that affords racers a view ahead (or behind) at other participants in the race. A popular race since its inception in 2009, the Road to Renewal continues to grow because of its serene setting, encouraging course support and worthwhile cause, as well as the attractive featuers of the race. All proceeds benefit the Agape House, a Christ-centered drug rehabilitation program for women in Northeast Arkansas.
The race starts and finishes at the McDaniel Road entrance to the Paragould Community Center, which is located on Highway 49S, just south of the McDaniel Road intersection. Ample parking is available at the Community Center; overflow parking is available at Grace Baptist Church on McDaniel Road, just near the finish area. The race will be timed by Agee Race Timing. Day-of registration will be open from 6:30-7:45 a.m. at the registration area near the bathroom facilities on the grounds of the Community Center. Water stations will be available at miles 1 and 2, and post-race drinks and other refreshments will be available for participants.
The Road to Renewal is a CROWLEYS RIDGE ATHLETIC CLUB Series Event. Awards will be presented to the top 3 runners and top 5 walkers as well as the top 3 finishers in the following age divisions: 0 - 9, 10 - 14, 15 - 19, 20 - 24, 25 - 29, 30 - 34, 35 - 39, 40 - 44, 45 - 49, 50 - 54, 55 - 59, 60 +, and points will be awarded toward the CRAC Event Series race. Event shirts are guaranteed to all who are registered before March 15th. Limited surplus shirts will be available as well.
